In true mama bear fashion, I can’t believe I am writing a blog post about Amelia’s 5th birthday! Wasn’t it just yesterday she made the most unplanned entrance and catapulted me into the most pivot moments of my life. It may be her 5th birthday but the pivot moments have kept coming.
One of my favourite ways to make her birthday extra special is with beautiful décor. This year Amelia was super excited to have a unicorn theme birthday party, and even if it was only our family, Lemonade Party Box helped me make explode unicorns & colours fit for my birthday girl.
I’m sure it will come of no surprise to you that I wanted classic, beautiful decorations rather than cartoony. Don’t get me wrong, the day they ask for cartoony they’ll get just that. Here’s what I selected for Amelia’s unicorn theme birthday party from Lemonade Party box!
First, how could I resist the Magical Unicorn Mylar balloon! Would it even be a themed party without a balloon the size of the birthday girl!
I fell in love with the pink & rose gold balloon garland knowing that Amelia’s criteria for her birthday was pink, sparkly and unicorn! If you’re worried about making the garland, rest assured the kit comes with the necessary balloons and tape to create it.
I knew it would just be our little family together so I wanted to create the most birthday table setting for our girl! Birthdays can be pretty wasteful so where I can I choose eco-conscious products like the Meri Meri Simple Eco plates – bonus that the scalloped pattern is SO cute. I went with the Large Pale Pink plates for dinner and the Small Pale Blue plates for cake.
To keep on point with the unicorn theme I selected the We Heart Unicorn Face Napkins – it was the rosy cheeks that got me!
I could not resist getting the Pink Heart Wooden Cutlery Set because the tiny heart detail was just too cute to pass up!
Now how can I NOT talk about the freakin work of art that is this Unicorn cake made here in Niagara by Bittersweet and Symphony Cakes. It did not disappoint my unicorn happy girl or our stomachs!
Last but not least, and what I didn’t know would be such a big hit, was the Meri Meri Gold Sparkler for the cake. I almost cried when I overheard Amelia say ‘it’s the most beautiful thing’.
That’s how I knew we nailed the unicorn theme birthday party even if it was just our little family.
