Here goes nothing.
I’ve thought about this post for a long time (I’m an overthinker) and, finally, it dawned on – what’s the worst that could happen.
As a new mom to an incredible little girl, a wife to my high school sweetheart, and lifelong resident of the Niagara region I decided that maybe I had something to share. I’m an expert at nothing so I don’t plan to educate anyone, just live my life and document what lessons I pick up along the way.
Why blog? My daughter was born in January 2017 (cue waterworks over her first birthday coming up) and I found myself being torn in two different directions.
I was so in love with Amelia, affectionately called Millie, but another part of me struggled to see me in this role of mom. Anyone else been there? I hope so.
So this is my opportunity to be creative. It’s also my way of remembering. It’s not a lie when people say it goes by so fast. I find myself straining to remember what Millie, and day to day life, was like at different points. I want to be able to look back.
What’s my goal? To share. Not only about my life but about what the Niagara Region has to offer. I follow many lifestyle bloggers in Toronto and on the West coast and started to see that Niagara is also full of awesome things.
A great sense of community pride, tons of little start up shops, local moms making super cute clothes. I think there’s more than meets the eye. If I can’t find it in Niagara, I’ll look for Ontario, then Canada. How great is it that our country has so much to offer – patriotic moment!
I’m avid home cook. I am by no means a recipe developer, I leave that to the experts, but I love trying out new recipes. I don’t subscribe to any lifestyle, paleo/vegan/SAD, but rather find myself pulling from all kinds of sources with one particular goal in mind: feed my family whole foods that keep us healthy and strong.
As of today (I say this because I hear it changes) I have a little one with an appetite for healthy foods!!
I’m a busy body so an active life is a must. Whether is a long walk, a quick HIIT workout, or a calm yoga routine sign me up.
I’m a big believer in prevention so, for me, a healthy mind and body is essential. So, I’m off. I’ll be more concise in my writing but this post was a chance to reflect.
I hope you’ll follow along and see yourself in my journey through motherhood – the good, the bad, and the ordinary.
