Before I drive into all things litterless lunch, can we take a moment to soothe my mama heart as a prepare for my first baby to go to school this year. How did the little girl who flipped my life on its head become old enough to ride the school bus!! Oh my sweet Amelia (p.s. if you want to get to know how Amelia turned my life upside down check out an Unplanned Birth Story: Amelia Ruby Cavasin). Any other parent out there wondering how this happened??
I digress! A Lunch BoX
I went with a Yumbox with four compartments for Amelia. Well.ca has a huge selection of Lunch Boxes varying in how many compartments, design and price.
a water bottle
My preference for water bottles is stainless steel because it’s sustainable, safe from breaking, and cleans really easily. I chose Klean Kanteen for the kids! Thermos is also a great brand with lots of options from solid colours or your little’s favourite character like Elsa! Well.ca has a great selection of different water bottles so you’re bound to find one you love.
I saw one of the biggest sources of waste in a lunch to be plastic bags so I found sustainable alternatives for snack bags that were zero waste! Colibri is a great Canadian brand with a variety of sizes of cloth reusable snack bags.
A food container
a lunch bag
I’m a big fan of SoYoung, a Canadian brand based out of Toronto, Ontario that uses natural fabrics.
ice packs & utensils
Re-Play is one of my favourite brands for the kids! I stocked up on their plates, cups, and utensils for everyday.
