If you’ve been around for awhile you’ll know I am a sucker for all things skincare. Not just any skincare though! I’m super choosy about what I put on my skin and I stand by it.
One of the biggest tips I share about how to get that glowing, dewy skin every brand is trying to sell ya is to choose products with clean ingredients. In my pursuit of makeup and skincare products I can trust to slather on my skin is that the brands I trust also do not compromise on how their products impact our earth. I’m here for it!
Let me introduce you to Elate Cosmetics, a Canadian cosmetic brand that specializes in vegan, cruelty free, ethical and sustainably made beauty products that support your skin. Tell me that’s not a win win! Products where you don’t have to sacrifice quality or the planet.

About Elate Cosmetics
Elate has always had a place on my list of favourites! Here’s why!
Elate Cosmetics came to founder and CEO, Melodie Reynolds, when she realized just how much plastic a single tube of lipstick produced. From then on, Melodie’s focus was on ethical practices and ingredients and built a brand that could change the future of the cosmetic industry.
Some of the revolutionary ways that Elate Cosmetics transformed traditional cosmetic products is by sourcing ingredients from around the world that are fair trade and organic and choosing low waste, sustainable packaging like bamboo and seed paper.
There is an element to Elate that I personally love and that makes me want to continue to share about this brand and that is the focus on encouraging people to create beauty rituals with products they truly love. Rather than reaching for whatever makeup is on sale, with Elate you can create a Beauty Capsule that you love to use and that is also good for the planet.
Elate Cosmetics in my Makeup Bag
Cleaning up your makeup bag and finding products you really love is easy peasy with Elate. I’m proof of that. So let’s take a look at what’s in my beauty capsule. Here are the products I use for my everyday makeup routine.

Prep Primer
This lightweight primer is incredibly hydrating and creates a smooth base to prolong your foundation while it plumps, firms and soothes to create a beautiful finish. You can also use this primer as the last step of your nighttime skin care rituals, to calm and hydrate your skin.
Uplift Foundation
What I love about the uplift foundation is that it’s a weightless, buildable coverage foundation meaning you can play with the coverage you get. If I think of how I wear my makeup everyday or how I would do my makeup for family photos it would be different and I can achieve both with one product. It’s also breathable about full of hydrating ingredients like jojoba, coconut, argan oil, sea Buckthorn oil and zinc oxide.
Universal Creme
It’s all in the name! This universal creme combines hydration and protection with a colourful mineral finish on both lips and cheeks. I love that it creates a dewy look on the apples of my cheeks. Bonus: you can purchase a refill in a seed paper envelope and use your existing bamboo compact instead of purchasing new packaging over and over. You can also plant the envelope to grow beautiful wildflowers!!
Brow Balm
Can you believe it wasn’t until recently that I started filling in my eyebrows!! Admittedly I am very fortunate to have full brows but since I found the brow balm my brows are next level. This is the world’s FIRST sustainable, vegan and cruelty-free brow product ensuring you get the best product to add colour, definition, and tame your brows without comprising our planet!!
Like the universal creme, the brow balm comes in a reusable bamboo compact so you can purchase a refill in a seed envelope.
To create shape, tame, and add colour to your brows (hallelujah) use the double ended angled brow brush made with sustainably sourced bamboo.
Liquid EyeLine
I can’t get enough of the classic liquid liner with a little wing look. It’s my go to makeup look for day AND night. The liquid eyeline is made with gluten-freen and vegan ingredients so it’s gentle enough for even the most sensitive eyes. Add that it’s water-resistant and has a great intensity in colour and you can see why it’s a staple.
Essential Mascara
A really good mascara is a girls best friend. Without a doubt, stranded on a desert island I want to have the essential mascara! HA! Now that’s love. It adds length and volume without clumping and is water and sweat resistant (see, island ready!!). One coat is perfect for that au natural, bright eyed and bushy tailed look I’m striving for everyday but when I’m looking for more of a dramatic look I can add clean, smooth layers.
Better Balm
And better balm seals the deal! This lip conditioning balm is nourishing and protects your lips from environmental pollutants and the tinted balm is perfect for my simple beauty ritual. My favourite for the daytime is the prettiest sheer pink tint called Bloom but I also keep Clarity, which is not tinted, next to my bed as part of my nighttime beauty ritual and wake up with the softest lips.
There you have it! Everything in my makeup bag I use for my everyday beauty ritual. Ready to see the before and after? It’s still ME but polished, and I love that!!
