Looking for the best apps for women? Here are 6 apps that every woman should have to help you feel your best and live your optimal life.

Is your phone basically an extension of you? I feel like you would be hard done by to find a woman who says no. Now, can you tell me what your favourite apps are?
We can talk later about healthy boundaries when it comes to your phone but there are some apps for women you all need to have – wellness, fitness, health, and since clean, sustainable living is kinda my jam there’s some of that too.
I’m going to shy away from the well-known, addictive like crack app like Instagram (but do follow me since I know you have it) or TikTok. Trust me, I use them two but let’s focus on the apps for women that can elevate our wellness.
If we have any apps for women in common leave me a comment. Or if there’s one you can’t live without that I don’t know about yet, drop it in the comments and I’ll check it out.
Clue
If you’ve been around awhile you’ll know that I struggle with Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder, or PMDD.
It took years to figure out the trend but how I accomplished identifying it was tracking my cycle religiously using Clue.
Clue is the #1 doctor recommended period tracker app built in collaboration with top health researchers. My naturopathic doctor recommended Clue to me and with no exaggeration it was a game changer.
You can use this app like me, tracking my period and PMDD symptoms, but you can also track your fertility if you are planning a pregnancy.
Clue will also notify you when you are in your fertility window or PMS symptoms are approaching so you can be prepared.
I think it’s safe to say this may be THE app of all apps for women. If you have a period, you need Clue.

Headspace
Headspace, as they put it is “Meditation made Simple”; a meditation app to help you live a healthier, happier, and more well rested life in just a few minutes a day.
When I was pregnant with Amelia I had the hardest time sleeping. I was at the point as I neared the end of my pregnancy where I seriously doubted I could do another day. I asked a friend whose sister in law was also pregnant but more important was a doctor about what I could do. She recommended Headspace and the rest is history.
Headspace teaches you how to meditate with a free basics pack. There are a wide range of meditation tutorials that are free as well but the possibilities are actually endless when you pay an annual fee.
There are tutorials for early mornings, stress, less, athletics, and even kids.

Spotify
OK this might seem obvious but if you don’t have Spotify on your phone, go, now!
Spotify is a digital service that gives you access to millions of songs and podcasts – for me, it’s all about the freakin podcasts!
I listen to podcasts in the car over Bluetooth, when I’m out for walks with the kids, when I’m cooking dinner. I’m listening to podcasts on Spotify really whenever I can.
You can also download a desktop version if you’re at a computer often – I highly recommend that too for the playlists while working.

obé Fitness
Since my kids were born (and all things occurring in 2020) getting to the gym on a regular basis has been increasingly difficult. I needed an at home solution that I also found effective: enter obé.
obé self describes as “The Best At Home Workout” and I have to agree. I’ve tried different PDF’s, different online programs and none have given me as effective of a workout at home as an obé workout. In 28 minutes, I’m drenched in sweat without leaving my house. You can access the app from your phone (duh), laptop, or stream to your TV.
Their mantra – keep. it. fresh. is what keeps me coming back. I don’t need to do the same workout over and over again. You can choose from live classes or on demand classes depending on what you’re in the mood for that day.

Think Dirty
Clean ingredients in our skincare and household products is important to me. Clean refers to products made with non-toxic ingredients that don’t pose any risk to your health.
Labels are complicated so having the Think Dirty app helps me identify which products I should be choosing quickly.
Think Dirty is a great app for women to empower and educate consumers like me to make an informed decision on what products to purchase.
With the app on your phone you can scan bar codes. If documented, the app will rate the ingredients in the products on the ‘dirty meter’ and give the product a rating from 0 to 10; 0 meaning the product contains no toxic ingredients. The app also suggest cleaner options. If the product you’re looking for isn’t documented yet, you can submit it for review.
I find this app extremely helpful as I navigate being a conscious consumer and removing toxic ingredients from our home.
I’ll make one note that there is a few things to consider when using the app. It is not a fool proof system and sometimes requires some digging deeper. For example, when I look up one of my favourite products The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 it is rated a 5. When I look through what ingredients are deemed concerning, phenoxyethanol, is in rated that way because it is a synthetic preservative which wouldn’t be found naturally occurring but doesn’t pose health risks. I make the personal choice to continue to buy this product because I feel informed about my decision.
