Hi, I’m Mandy!
A thirty-something year old embracing motherhood and small town living in the Niagara Region. I love me a glass of red wine (I mean, I live minutes away from wine country), whipping up recipes from my favourite cookbooks, and a good bubble bath. I married my high school sweetheart and our daughter, Amelia (affectionately called Millie) made me a mom in 2017.
So, what’s my back story? Motherhood is real tough. It’s even harder when you lack all confidence in yourself. My love for my daughter transformed me but it wasn’t easy. I second guess myself, I wonder if I’ll screw her up, I sometimes question whether I’m enough for her. I turned to blogging as an outlet; a means to work through these feelings and let other moms know it’s ok to struggle.
Simple & Sage is a lifestyle blog about motherhood – the good, the bad, and the ordinary. I keep things simple and share what works for me. I’m just like you – stumbling along, without a handbook. I live on a budget and value quality over quantity. I prioritize supporting Canadian companies and small shops – I see the value in that. I’m an advocate for living a balanced life, women supporting women, and raising kind, positive children. What you’ll see is my authentic life and you’ll hear my personal stories. These are products I use, places I go, and things I do.
I hope, like me, you take comfort in knowing you’re not alone second guessing yourself, googling all hours of the night, and trying to find yourself in your role as mom. It’s all too easy to forget about yourself as a mom – let me be that voice to remind you that you are a priority. I’m not an expert at anything, just sharing what I’ve picked up along the way. If you learn something from me that makes your life simpler, I’m so glad! Mostly though, I hope you just a smile knowing we’re in this together.
Does this sound like you? You’re my kind of girl
